Dress Code FOR ALL CLASSES – Hair should be pulled back away from face and
off of neck. No jeans, jean
shorts, khaki pants or khaki shorts of any kind are permitted in class.
Proper dance shoes should be worn in all classes. Street
shoes are not permitted in the studio at any time. Ballet
Classes -
leotard and tights of any color, ballet skirts, shorts, ballet warm-ups
are allowed, for instance; shrugs, legwarmers, ballet sweaters. Inappropriate
Dress – pants, capri’s,
baggy t-shirts, sweatshirts Ballet
Shoes –
Intro levels through level 2 (age 9) should be in a full sole ballet
shoe. Preferred brands are
Capezio, Bloch or Sansha. These
can be purchased from Dancer’s Pointe.
It’s important to be in a brand name dance shoe for proper foot
manipulation and technique. Intermediate
and Advanced levels 3-6 should be in a split sole ballet shoe.
Pointe shoes will be chosen by the instructor and can be fitted
either at Dancer's Pointe or Stage Center. Tap
Classes –
leotard and tights of any color, ballet skirts, shorts, capri’s and
dance warm-ups. Camisole tops, tank tops, baby t-shirts.
Jazz pants are ok as long as they are not too long.
Feet have to be visible. Tap
Shoes – Intro
levels through level 2 should be in the Capezio or Bloch Black Mary
Jane. These shoes are not
patent leather and have a buckle or velcro strap.
They provide more stability and better sound quality, non slip
heels and are dance floor friendly.
Level
3 through 8 should
be in the Capezio or Bloch tie oxford.
It is the teacher’s discretion whether or not to require a high
heel tap shoe also. This
depends on the type of costume and/or dance.
All high level tap students should have both kinds. Competition dancers, please see separate competition info
for proper shoes. Jazz
Classes –

students may be expected to also have the same shoe in black.
Sometimes Broadway is asked to get character shoes as well. Hip

dance warm-ups. Camisole
tops, tank tops, baby t-shirts. Jazz

Hop Shoes
– black Capezio or Bloch Dance Sneaker.

- camisole tops, tank tops, baby t-shirts, shorts and leotards.
White canvas or leather plain tennis shoes (Keds) only to be worn
for Cheer Class. Boys
Classes –
plain colored T-shirt and plain colored sweats or shorts (no jeans or
jean shorts) Lyrical
Classes -
leotard and tights of any color, ballet skirts, shorts, capri’s and
dance warm-ups, camisole tops, tank tops. Lyrical
Shoes –
foot undies.
